Protect Your Plastiq Account with 2-Step Authentication

Your payments are important, that is why we have made 2-step authentication available for all Plastiq members to provide an additional layer of security.

Two-step authentication adds more security to your Plastiq account by requiring a second step to sign in. In this case, if you opt into this feature, you’ll access a 6-digit verification code generated by your phone after a new sign-in attempt.¬†Two-step authentication is optional, but highly recommended as it is one of the best ways to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

Enabling 2-step verification on your Plastiq account is simple. When signed into your Plastiq account, select Security in the person icon drop down. First, you will set up your Security PIN by choosing a unique 4-digit PIN. We recommend not referencing any birthdays, anniversaries or social security numbers. Second, you will verify your phone number by text message or by phone call.

Once 2-step authentication has been enabled, you will need your phone to enter the 6-digit verification code sent each time you sign into your Plastiq account. In the event your phone is unavailable at the time of sign in, you may choose to log in with your chosen Security PIN.

This additional layer of security significantly reduces the risk of your Plastiq account becoming compromised if your password gets stolen by phishing or malware. If you would like to learn more about this feature, please see our Help Center.
