How electronics move.

When you buy electronics, you think about product features and spec before deciding on exactly what you need. But have you ever considered how those electronics get from the retailer, to you? Basatne has. They provide complete supply chain management solutions, fulfillment and logistics for consumer electronics. And they do so with the help of Plastiq.

A platform for growth.

Beginning in 2009, this Canadian company has grown to 27 employees, split between Toronto and Dallas. Using Plastiq as a cash-flow platform became an obvious choice for Bastane founder, Ammar Basatne. “A lot of vendors don’t accept credit cards and want a wire. We leverage Plastiq to help manage cash flow.”

Bigger demand means bigger deals.

With COVID-19 forcing people to work and learn from home, the demand for home-based technology and entertainment has increased exponentially. As retailers like Amazon and Walmart needed to stock more electronics, Plastiq has helped Basatne grow. “It’s just a really good tool for maintaining cash flow and buying bigger quantities or buying bigger deals, you know, selling more,” said Ammar.

Pay or get paid with Plastiq.

The company has even started having their clients pay using Plastiq Accept. “A couple of clients wanted to use Visa or Mastercard. We referred them to Plastiq and they set up their own account and started paying us directly using the service.”

I can tell you this: without Plastiq, we would be buying smaller volume and we would probably not be nearly as big right now.

Bigger and better.

Overall, Bastane sees his company’s growth curve continuing to accelerate. “Expanding is part of the business. If you’re not growing, you’re getting smaller.” And the company’s founder see’s Plastiq as a key contributor to that growth. “Let’s say last year we had the capital to buy $2 million in inventory every month. Now we can buy $6 million because of Plastiq.”
