Plastiq has the right to instruct SVB on the use of funds in the account, including to receive funds from you and to then send funds to your payee based on your instructions.

    SVB's acts only as a service provider to Plastiq, and its role in the completion of a payment is restricted to funds acceptance and treasury disbursement as instructed by Plastiq. You are not a customer of SVB. Plastiq provides card processing services to you and dispatches payment instructions to SVB for the purpose of accomplishing these payments.

    People use Plastiq to pay important bills on their favorite cards. We charge fees to cover the costs of running this service - more on that below - though most customers report that the value they receive from using their cards actually offsets the fees charged. These savvy cardholders take advantage of their cards' reward programs, the ability to access short-term "loans" without interest, and other card benefits like purchase protection and easier budget tracking.

    Why Does Plastiq Charge a Fee?

    Many merchants choose to NOT accept credit or debit cards, usually because it doesn’t make sense for them to pay the transaction fees associated with doing so. While your favorite restaurant might see fewer diners if they don’t accept cards, other businesses like landlords, insurers, schools, and contractors don’t have strong reasons to make payments convenient — after all, it’s unlikely that you will reject an apartment or school just because they don’t accept cards!
